Introduction We are currently seeking a Document Management Technician for a major oil and gas client in Calgary, Alberta. This pivotal role entails providing comprehensive support to Canadian Thermal Upstream projects, ensuring the adherence to Document Management standards and procedures.

What are you going to do 

Responsibilities

  • Support all Canadian Thermal Upstream projects in all stages of the Document Management (DM) Lifecycle, partnering with both internal project engineers and external engineering firm's project teams for Operations Projects.
  • Provide support for Calgary and Canadian Thermal Upstream Field staff with any Document Management related questions.
  • Follow Document Management governing documents to perform all aspects of the job function.
  • Enforce Document Management standards and procedures to ensure high quality and integrity of engineering documents.

Deliverables

  • Quality control of engineering and vendor document deliverables
  • Document and drawing revision control.
  • CWP and FCN tracking, control, and distribution
  • Construction turnover management
  • Project Master Stick File management
  • Project closeout
  • Other general document management duties

Requirements

  • Experience with Electronic Document Management Systems
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Document Controller in the oil and gas industry, either Owner-Operator or EP experience
  • Experience with SharePoint, SAP, Livelink, Content Server, MS Word, Excel, Access, Adobe Acrobat and McLaren Work Manager.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Bluebeam is an asset but not mandatory.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Clear understanding of the differences between engineering disciplines and different types of technical documents and metadata being managed.
  • Communicates in a clear and concise manner to provide clear instruction to EPs and CVE staff to ensure high quality and integrity of engineering documents.
  • Follows established standards, procedures, and corporate processes.
  • Understands how their work fits within the business and how changes to existing DM processes impact our business partners.
  • Clear understanding of the differences between engineering disciplines and basic understanding of different types of engineering drawings and documents
  • Demonstrates a level of knowledge, skill, and expertise appropriate for the role by understanding and supporting the full engineering document management lifecycle of a project, including:
    1. revision control
    2. engineering change management
  • interpreting engineering drawings and changes
  1. vendor data management
  2. interpreting vendor data and changes
  3. construction turnover management
  • as-building
