Introduction

Brunel International is looking for a Desalination & Reverse Osmosis Inspector to join our team. This position is a great opportunity for someone with experience in the desalination and reverse osmosis industry to join a growing and innovative company. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all desalination and reverse osmosis systems are properly inspected and maintained in accordance with applicable regulations.

What are you going to do 

Inspection Of Distillers Roof Thickness Survey & Rectification

  1. Inspection of cladding & insulation on removal;
  2. Inspection of roof top casing plate of flash chamber & cond. water box with fasteners;
  3. Witness thickness survey of plate – the area subjected to corrosion, if any;
  4. Inspection of rectification of plate & stiffeners on welding, surface preparation & painting witness PT / MPT of weld;
  5. Inspection of insulation & cladding on replacement;

Structural Painting Of Distillers

Inspection of surface preparation & protective coating;

Air Vent Pipe (Uncondensed Gases)

Inspection of internal & external of pipes, flanges and fasteners including repair;

Water Box Drain Lines

Inspection of drain pipes, flanges and fasteners including repair;

Air Ejector Condensers

Inspection of all welded joints of primary & secondary ejector condensers with connected pipes including repair / replacement;

Distillation Deaerator

Inspection of internal surface including coating, nozzles, guard nets, pall rings, sacrificial anodes, manholes and their repair/ replacement, if any;

Re-Carbonation Plant Equipment

Inspection of distributor, limestone filters, tanks (CO2 gas absorber, sedimentation tank, recovery tank, de-gasifier tank, purification filter & sand filter tank etc.), internal piping, rubber lining, gauge glasses, packing, lime stone charging machine (lime stone spreader, screw feeder, belt conveyor etc.);

Distillation Sea Water Inlet & Outlet Piping And Culvert

  1. Inspection of sea water inlet piping system after isolation of pump inlet & discharge line with complete draining taking all safety measures, repair / replacement as necessary;
  2. Inspection of sea water outlet piping and culvert after isolation of the culvert, dewatering, cleaning with high pressure jet & mechanical scraping, repair / replacement of pipes, concrete expansion joints, spalled edges etc. as necessary, taking all safety measures;
  3. Installation of debris filter, trash rack cleaning machine assembly, sedimentation removal assembly, curved band screen;

General Pipework

Inspection of maintenance, repair / replacement of all pipe work and pipe details namely flanges, expansion joints, supports, above ground, buried. In trenches & tunnels – sea water inlet & outlet piping and culvert;

Tanks, Heat Exchanger, Chiller & Condenser

Inspection of maintenance of tanks (water, chemical), heat exchanger, chillers & condensers comprising cleaning & repair of water boxes, tubes (including tube plugging, retubing / replacement of tube bundle), tubes sheets, maintenance of cathodic protection systems, condenser and heat exchanger outlet piping removal and repair and hydrostatic or fluorescent leak testing;

Air Compressors, Air Saturator, Auto Strainer

Inspection of maintenance & overhauling of rotary, screw and rotary vane type compressors and reciprocating air compressors, instrument air drier etc.;

Chemical Dosing System, Mixer, Dm Plant

Inspection of maintenance of all equipment in the chemical dosing system and DM Plant including

pumps, agitators, chemical tanks, acid and caustic tanks, cation-anion-mixed bed tanks and pipe lines;

Ducts, Dampers, Expansion Joints, Manholes

Inspection of ducts, dampers, expansion joints, manholes etc. including repair / replacement of Parts;

Fans

Inspection of maintenance / overhauling of all fans including small fans for gas extraction & equipment cooling.

Essential skills and knowledge

Personnel Specification: Graduate mechanical engineer with professional qualification. Minimum 10 years’ experience in surveillance of power plant construction with EPC contractor and modern steam power stations, utility or inspection authority. eligible for Kuwait Engineering Society membership, Sufficient experience and certified training in ISO 9002 and QA/QC;

Engineering Disciplines: Working Knowledge of power plant design and construction, Construction planning and management, Materials Welding, NDE and Quality Assurance. In depth technical capability and capacity to specify, analyse, comment about the working parameters of the Reverse Osmosis Plants;

  1. ASME Section V – Non-destructive Examination;
  2. ASME Section VIII – Rules for Construction of Pressure Vessels;
  3. ASME Section IX – Welding & Brazing Qualification;
  4. ASME B31.3 – Process Piping;
  5. TRD 201 – Welding of Steel Components; Manufacture – Inspection & Testing;
  6. DIN EN 288 Part 1 – Specification and Approval for Welding Metallic Materials Fusion Welding;
  7. DIN EN 288 Part 2 & 3 – Specification and Approval for Welding Metallic Materials Arc Welding;
  8. AD 2000 Merkblatt HP 2/1 – Procedure Testing for Joining Processes, for Welding Joints;
  9. AD 2000 Merkblatt HP 5/3/1 –Non-destructive Testing of Welding Joints;
  10. ASTM Standards for Material Testing.
