  • Under the direction of the Construction Manager, DCM shall assist and support the coordination of site based company construction and construction management activities.
  • The DCM will undertake applicable activities, such as CTR’s schedule reviews, Model reviews, as well as develop and maintain site execution status updates, and progress reports.
  • They shall identify potential & emergent issues, that may impact site execution, and assist is recovery/mitigation measures.
  • The DCM shall ensure through support, quality and safety of works; coordinate activities with others; and provides administrative support to the Construction Management team.
  • The incumbent should be entirely familiar with the construction/installation practices associated with significant Civil, Piping fabrication and erection works, as well as electrical and instrumentation installations, as would typically be found in large scale greenfield petrochemical manufacturing facility setting.
  • The individual should not only have a firm grasp of their own disciplines but also a sound understanding of those disciplines within the Construction Team.

What are you going to do 

  • Activities directed by the Construction Manager
  • Support and facilitate the construction team effort, by maintaining strong client and EPC relations.
  • Promote & facilitate site schedule adherence, tracking and daily execution progress, whilst actively highlighting (and then monitoring) any potential or emergent issues compiling into a daily report as required by the project.
  • Maintain an orderly and complete history of the work in monthly, weekly, and/or daily reports as required.
  • Monitor the major field construction activities for compliance with the schedule and project delivery dates working with the contractor to develop mitigation measures to control schedule when slippage is determined.
  • Monitor and follow up requests for CPY site execution support by the EPC.
  • Participate with the risk management process and identification of issues that can impact the Project performance and escalating on a timely manner and work closely with the EPC to set the suitable mitigation measures.
  • Supports the HSE group with daily onsite safety monitoring and compliance of the Project, Health and Safety Plan, Environmental Plan, Quality Plan and Execution Plan and ensure contractor activities and issued permits follow the authorities’ requirements.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • A recognized discipline trade/craft qualification as a minimum, and/or discipline degree.
  • Minimum 10 years’ site biased chosen discipline execution experience, with at least 5 years in a superintendent/DPY construction Manager Role, supervising a multi disciplined Company team, within a large-scale project refinery/petrochemical greenfield environment.
  • Strong Team ethic, whilst able to work autonomously.
  • Computer literate in typical office programs, along with project management and discipline specific software.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Fluent in English written and spoken.
