What are you going to do 

Brunel Energy is recruiting a Cost Analyst to work with a major oil and gas company on a 12-month contract in Port Arthur, TX.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide cost control, financial analysis, and accounting support for terminal operations and capital/maintenance activities.
  • Monitor project and operational costs through financial analysis, invoice processing, accrual management, forecasting, budgeting, and SAP S/4HANA transaction management.
  • Analyze cost performance, reconcile accounts, and ensure financial data integrity throughout the procure-to-pay lifecycle.
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Procurement, and Finance teams to support cost management, financial reporting, and operational decision-making.
  • Prepare and present financial analyses and cost reports while ensuring accurate and timely financial records.

Essential skills and knowledge

Key Qualifications:

  • Expert SAP S/4HANA transaction processing and reporting skills.
  • Experience working on a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced financial and accounting acumen.
  • Ability to present financial information to management and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting LNG, oil & gas, petrochemical, industrial manufacturing, or large capital projects.
  • Experience with cost management for maintenance and turnaround activities.
  • Knowledge of project controls and capital project accounting.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Procurement, and Finance.
  • Familiarity with Power BI or similar platforms.
