What are you going to do 

  • Responsible for the overall management and co-ordination HSE activities.
  • Principal accountabilities include being the ultimate authority on HSE matters, the development and implementation of policies consistent with corporate needs, the attraction, retention and motivation of first choice staff, and the delivery of effective training and development programs.
  • Overall advisory authority.
  • Manages the function.
  • Policies & procedures.
  • Budget preparation.
  • Develops emergency Plans.
  • Represents Company at meetings.
  • Conducts HSE audits.
  • Management reports.
  • Sub-contractor evaluations.
  • Promotes HSE awareness.
  • Motivates & develops staff.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • B.Sc. graduate in engineering and hold a diploma in safety management or a NEBOSH diploma.
  • 12 years construction experience in the petrochemical sector with at least 10 years in HSE inspection in both onshore and offshore locations.
  • 5 years exposure and involvement with supervisory and managerial responsibilities.
  • Computer literate.
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English with knowledge of Arabic being a distinct advantage. High order of report writing skills.
  • Strong analytical ability.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with relevant international laws and regulations.
  • Good negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Good team leader.
  • Organizational awareness.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a multinational, multicultural work environment.
