What are you going to do 

  • Responsible for evaluation, Selection and application of standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications keeping in view the HSE policies.
  • Also, reviews and prepares higher tier engineering documents and drawings related to the Control Systems engineering discipline.
  • Manage, Plan, Monitor and Control overall performance of Operations Systems & Controls regarding DCS, ESDS, Packaged equipment.
  • Control Systems, Condition Monitoring Systems, SCADA and Gas Turbines and Compressors Controls Systems.
  • Liaise with other departments to assist in the above-mentioned system in the areas of responsibilities.
  • Shall contributes and promotes continuous work improvement.
  • Work decisions impact on all aspects of Systems & Controls and major machinery maintenance and control functions, their upgrade, effective utilization and reliable operation.
  • Implements OP Safety Policy with regard to Corporation employees and contract personnel.
  • Holds regular safety meetings within the Section and advises staff with Gas Processing and Distribution on Safety Audit and tours of the plant facilities.

  • Perform the effective engineering support, integrity and availability of all Systems & Control in adherence with and relevant international standards being followed and appropriate Safety codes to achieve their maximum integrity, availability and efficiency in cost effective manner.
  • Performs work that involves conventional engineering practice but may include complex features such as resolving conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional system & control requirements and/or difficult coordination requirements.
  • Provide specialist engineering support services, studies, failure analysis and root cause analysis, recommend the appropriate corrective and follow up action to prevent reoccurrence and measure improvements.
  • Attending FAT/ IFAT, Witness System Commissioning & Pre-Commissioning, SAT and Takeover of new/upgrade projects.
  • Review of all detail engineering documents of Vendor/ Contractor and attending all technical meetings as focal point from system Management side during contract execution for in house and ED / EM projects
  • Reviews defect reports for all Systems & Controls equipment within the assigned areas and initiates action as appropriate.
  • Perform and ensures the effective support for DCS, ESD, SCADA, PLC control systems, Heavy Duty Turbine Control Systems, Compressor Control Systems in adherence and relevant international Compressor Control Systems in adherence with OP and relevant international standards being followed and appropriate Safety codes to achieve their maximum integrity and efficiency in cost effective manner
  • Upgrading the Operating Systems, Application Software, Anti-Virus and other related software of Systems to match with the latest release I patches / versions Also any change of the Firm ware versions of Modules / controllers to overcome the obsolescence from the Vendor I OEM end.
  • Review and implement Cyber Security of Industrial Automation Systems within the System network to ensure secure and trouble free operation, propose / implement changes to be in line with established Qatar & OP ICT policies and procedures, periodic system audits for verification and confirmation, project related activities for existing, FEED and EPC stages of industrial automation systems.
  • Managing the long-term maintenance contract with the OEM / Vendor for minor modification, trouble shooting, health checkup and any other call off services related to various systems and recommend spares strategy for the same.
  • Engineering, Advanced technology applications, and Manufacturing and production liaison), Test development and analysis, Software development, Software Validation and Verification, and full systems integration
  • Prepares the section's annual budget for operating, non-routine operating, capital works, manpower, transport, service equipment and office furniture.
  • Provides input to accrued costs on a monthly basis and monitors the monthly Finance statement for compliance to the approved budget.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline
  • Relevant disciplines certificates
  • 10 Year similar experience
  • 15 Years overall experience in oil and gas
