What are you going to do 

Responsible for inspecting welding activities and ensuring compliance with project specifications, approved welding procedures, applicable codes, quality standards, and HSE requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of welding activities.
  • Review and verify WPS, PQR, and Welder Qualification Records (WQR).
  • Verify welder qualifications and monitor welder testing where required.
  • Identify welding defects, discrepancies, and non-conformances and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and monitor NDT activities, including RT, UT, PT, and MT.
  • Monitor welding parameters, heat input, pre- and post-weld treatments, and compliance with approved WPS.
  • Maintain inspection records, NCRs, corrective action records, and quality documentation.
  • Prepare detailed welding inspection reports and provide updates on quality issues.
  • Coordinate with welding teams, engineers, and other project stakeholders to resolve quality issues.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable welding standards, project requirements, and safe working practices.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • CWI, CSWIP, AWS, or equivalent Welding Inspector certification.
  • NDT certification is an advantage.
  • Relevant experience in welding inspection within Oil & Gas, Offshore, Marine, FPSO, or Shipbuilding projects.
  • Knowledge of SMAW, MIG, TIG, and FCAW welding processes.
  • Good knowledge of ASME, API, ISO, and AWS standards.
  • Strong inspection, reporting, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Essential skills and knowledge

We are looking for a qualified Construction Quality Welding Inspector with relevant experience in Oil & Gas, Offshore, Marine, FPSO, or Shipbuilding projects. Candidates should have a Diploma/Degree in Welding, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and hold CWI, CSWIP, AWS, or equivalent certification. Experience in WPS/PQR/WQR verification, welding inspection, NDT coordination, NCRs, and corrective actions is required. Knowledge of SMAW, MIG, TIG, FCAW and ASME/API/ISO/AWS standards is essential. FPSO/offshore construction experience and NDT certification will be an advantage.
