Introduction

  • Provide Company representation in Supervises and coordinates construction activities at the Contractor fabrication yards and or NFS onshore site as required/directed.
  • Includes reviewing all projects plans and assessing/planning work, coordinating the smooth startup of projects, supervising construction work in progress, signing off completion certificates, collecting all final documentation from contractors and representing the Company as the day-to-day interface with contractors during all phases of the construction or installation work on-site.

What are you going to do 

  • Reviews drawings, bills of materials and project schedules, seeks clarifications from supervisor, project or design engineers as necessary, and assesses/plans work to be done.
  • Ensures the smooth start-up of project construction work by coordinating the issuance of site clearance/permits for contractors (approval of Method Statements and Job Safety Analysis), Review the constructability including scheduling of scaffolding and cranes (access/positioning). Ensures that all administrative details to accomplish the above are carried out in accordance with established procedures.
  • Ensures that contractor personnel are thoroughly briefed regarding all fire and safety rules and regulations pertaining to their work, inclusive of attending the safety orientation briefing.
  • Oversees the construction work in progress, normally of several objects during the same period and monitors erection schedules, checks on conformity to approved drawings, attends site progress meetings, arranges for necessary inspections and liaises with other departments, such as Quality, HSE and other Engineering personnel for access, clearances and proper coordination of hand over/hook up requirements.
  • Certifies that work is performed in accordance with approved drawings, contractual terms and good workmanship, and signs off on the various progress certificates. Includes vetting all related time sheets, invoices, claims; and providing recommendations to Construction Division Managers, Construction Heads or the Construction Manager
  • As relevant, liaises with other departments for obtaining Acceptance of Work Certificates on completion of work.
  • Responsible for the support of Company Safety, Environment and Quality policies and programs, and carrying out specific duties and responsibilities related to his job as spelled out in Management system documentation, policies, procedures, local documentation, Management System Manual, Safety Manual and other related documents.
  • Carries out other similar duties such as providing advice on construction considerations/potential problems to Construction management during the initial planning of projects, and ensuring that construction personnel exercise good housekeeping practices to keep the worksite safe and tidy during/after construction.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or industry equivalent education qualification
  • Must have 10 years minimum work experience in Oil and Gas industry with Projects.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as Document Controller/Technical Role with a Major project team.
  • Work experience in RLIC and other stake holders is preferred.
  • Proficient Information Technology (IT) skills.
  • Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and other industry utilized databases.
  • Previous work experience (North or South) is an advantage.
  • Excellent spoken and written English skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good teamworking and facilitation skills.
  • Must be able to work in multicultural environment.
  • Good analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
