Introduction

The Construction Coordinator Engineer will hold a commensurate amount of responsibility to coordinate the readiness of a mixed portfolio of small to medium sized construction projects, for construction campaigns.

To drive an accident free environment, maintaining a strong safety culture; compliance with HSE rules.

To be the Leader of a multi-discipline offshore team as needed for the construction activities.

To deliver integrated offshore items with Mechanical and Pre-commissioning fully completed to the Commissioning team.

What are you going to do 

HSE:

  • To ensure compliance with HSE (occupational and process) legislation, Company standards and procedures as they apply to project management and project engineering, to ensure employee safety and legislative compliance;
  • To ensure compliance with Company Management System and applicable International Standards;
  • To insure the good level of competency for COMPANY Supervision Team offshore.

Scope and development:

  • To develop tools as required to coordinate the offshore construction activities, from preparation stage up to completion offshore;
  • To organize readiness reviews with the Construction Department of E&C, to ensure the projects are sufficiently prepared and matured to go for site execution;
  • To deliver a consistent dossier (documents, materials, procured and fabricated items, precom/com dossiers…) to the Construction Supervision Team for the offshore construction activities;
  • To mobilize the COMPANY Supervision Team as required for the offshore construction and pre-commissioning activities offshore;
  • To mobilize the resources, equipment and tools as required for the offshore construction and pre-commissioning activities offshore;
  • To organize the bedding (on platform, accommodation vessel) as required for the offshore construction and pre-commissioning activities offshore in liaison with Planning and IOP Teams.

Project Management:

  • To contribute to the Project Execution strategy and Project Execution Plan related to the offshore construction activities;
  • To follow-up the KPI’s for the team and for the reporting to the Construction Lead; propose any other KPY’s;
  • To submit a weekly report to his hierarchical superior;
  • To track Engineering and procurement deliveries, related to Construction activities, in close relation with the Construction Engineers;
  • To interface with FO (onshore and offshore) in advance to the mobilization of E&C Construction Team, to anticipate the needs to fill FO’s expectations as required (i;e;: JSA’s, PTW);
  • To coordinate with FO (onshore and offshore) all along the progression of the works offshore;
  • To follow-up and report the progress of the works offshore, with analysis of the performances, on daily basis;
  • To do Management of Change in scope, organization, schedule, if required and assessment of resulting cost and schedule impact, related to Construction activities;
  • To deliver the close out dossier at the end of the project, as well as to participate to REX and Lessons learned for the Company.

Schedule Development:

  • To organize the offshore works in accordance with prioritization agreed with the Construction Lead, based on emergency, safety, production and future development critical needs.

    Cost Estimation and Budget Management:

  • To provide feedback for cost realization of the projects.

    Risk Management:

  • To perform risk analysis as required for the good performance of the works;
  • To participate to HAZID’s, Risk Assessments and JSA’s when required.

Assurance and Governance:

  • To co-ordinate with QA leader for all quality matters, including as well the management of quality audits as needed for a continuous control of Contractors/Subcontractors;
  • To provide the red mark-ups from Contractors/Subcontractors inputs from Offshore Construction Team, to the Construction Leader, for as-built dossiers.

Stakeholder Management:

  • To interface with other departments in E&C, FO as needed for the good performance of the works;
  • To organize the Coordination Meetings (weekly) with Construction Engineers, as required;
  • To prepare and facilitate relevant progress reports and distribute to key stakeholders;
  • To permanently assist the offshore construction team.

Procurement Management:

  • To liaise with C&P for necessary contracts/PO’s related to offshore construction activities.

    Resource Management:

  • To ensure that the resources and organization from Contractor are adequate with regards to the workload;
  • To review Contractor’s progress reports related to onshore mobilization (materials, equipment/tools, personnel) as well as offshore, highlighting critical problems, drifts and dysfunctions if any.

Mentoring:

  • Mentor, guide and act as role model for the Construction Department.

    Other:

  • To proactively take responsibility for self-progression by proposing improvement of the tools, organization, as required for the good performance of the Construction Department;
  • To carry out any other duties or tasks that may be assigned by his hierarchical superiors.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Management methods;
  • Technical background with a minimum of 15-20 years’ experience in construction of O&G installations;
  • Experience in offshore construction activities under SIMOPS conditions;
  • Extensive knowledge of industry best practice in Project Management;
  • Fluent in English.
