Introduction

  • This position is to act as a Senior Completions and Stimulation Engineer supporting the Drilling & Wells Lead in Integrated Development Engineering Group in all Drilling & Wells related studies in the Screening, Conceptual, Pre-FEED and FEED studies until Project FID.
  • Responsibilities include ensuring competent completion and stimulation engineering, design and planning, and deployment strategies encompassing possibly new technologies or technologies not currently used with COMPANY.
  • Completion Designs should focus on maximizing reservoir recovery including artificial lift and stimulation techniques.
  • Additionally, WHP design should be compliant with well service and intervention needs.
  • This position will also support the Drilling & Wells Lead teams and Manager in internal management and external shareholder workshops and stage gates.

    Within the Team, the Senior Completions & Stimulation Engineer:

  • Assists and leads Drilling & Wells studies for greenfield and brownfield development studies
  • Contributes to all stages of the Development Process, including internal and external engagement.
  • Performs detailed Engineering studies related to overall feasibility of future projects.
  • Liaises with multi-disciplinary teams and acts as Drilling & Wells focal point for interfaces.
  • Prepare timely and detailed documentation to facilitate management and shareholder validation.
  • Seeks innovative engineering solutions with a strong focus on operational and cost optimization.
  • Works independently, adapting to a dynamic and evolving work-scope within narrow timeframes.
  • Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work in a transverse project team.

What are you going to do 

  • Identify all drilling risks and ensure accompanying risk register for all development studies.
  • Ensure that all COMPANY and Industry HSE requirements are adhered to in the development studies.
  • Prepare derogations when deviations are required from COMPANY Referential.
  • Identify requirements for platform design; interface with Field Operations and well serviceability to ensure serviceability throughout the life cycle of the well.
  • Perform/Support detailed completion design studies including optimal artificial lift mechanism to maximize recovery in close cooperations with Reservoir and Geosciences.
  • Lead the Stimulation Domain studies, acting as a subject matter expert on the topic.
  • Participate in and contribute to all internal and vendor reviews / meetings.
  • Proactively seek and propose engineering solutions to overcome challenges and achieve operational excellence.
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports, presentations and other documentation to facilitate progression of the project through the development process stage gates.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Bachelors (Masters preferred) in Engineering
  • 8-10 years (minimum 2-3 years offshore), jack-up / shallow water (~50-55 m) experience is an advantage
  • Robust understanding of Completions, Well Interventions and Well Services (Completion Types & Components, Artificial Lift, Intervention Methods and Well Servicing operations).
  • Robust understanding of conveyance modes; Coil Tubing, Wireline and Slickline.
  • Expert level knowledge of stimulation (including fracking) is considered a pre-requisite for the position.
  • Previous experience Field Development Planning, EPC Projects, ESP and Al-Shaheen specific experience is an advantage
  • Excellent English Skills (Spoken & Written), ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-dimensional and cross-functional team, agile and adaptive to changes.
  • Experience in creating and delivering high quality presentations to management.
  • Expert experience in well planning using Landmark Suite (StressCheck™) or ability to achieve mastery with training.
  • Competence in use of reporting software; WellView™
  • Experienced with MS Office suite
