What are you going to do 

We are partnering with our client, a leading organization in the Oil and Gas sector, who is seeking a Commissioning Lead to join our client's team on a contract basis. This is a key role overseeing electrical commissioning activities for oil and gas facilities, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution in the field while setting the standard for health, safety, and environmental performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Electrical Commissioning Technicians and lead the field Electrical Commissioning activities related to Oil and Gas facilities.
  • Lead in all aspects of HSE by example.
  • Populate, verify and update the mechanical completions database (CCMS), ensuring any discrepancies are raised via TQ and resolved with Engineering department.
  • Review and update the ITRs & FTRs for the Electrical discipline.
  • Produce, review and update discipline specific Operational Test Procedures (OTPs).
  • Review Vendor installation and commissioning Procedures, Spares lists, and O&M manuals.
  • Supervision of Electrical Commissioning Technicians in the day-to-day tasks for the Electrical discipline, completion of ITR-B / FTRs and Operational Test Procedure activities.
  • Ensure all PTW Commissioning Controlled Areas (CCAs) are correctly barriered and all safety signage and access/egress are correctly applied and controlled as Area Authority.
  • Ensuring all tasks are completed on schedule, and all non-compliances, delays and faults are recorded and the Commissioning Superintendent is informed.
  • Witnessing of Construction Pre-commissioning tasks are recorded as per ITR procedure.
  • FAT &SAT attendance.
  • Ensure all Commissioning spares, tools and consumables a readily available for each daily task.
  • Ensure all LOTOs and Electrical Energization procedures are adhered to by site team under PTW system.
  • Interface with Constructions for closure of Punch lists and other documents, As-builts.
  • Ensure handover documentation is signed off and handed to the Handover Coordinator in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate Pre-Start Up review and perform handover of systems to clients and operations teams.
  • Supervise all Vendors, subcontractors, 3rd parties. Operations Team & Client on site.
  • Ensure the Sub-stations access is limited to Authorized persons only under PTW.
  • Participate fully in PTW / SIMOPS meetings.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Experience: >10 - 15 years.
  • Several Oil & Gas Projects delivered.
  • Electrical Safety Rules.
  • ATEX Compliant.
  • Heavy Industry experience.
  • Operations Support.
