Job Description: Purchases spot equipment, materials, chemicals/catalysts, and service requirements for multiple business lines.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Processes a queue of requisitions and converts to purchase orders on a daily basis.
* Collects written proposals from vendors as needed. * Conducts simple negotiations of pricing and general terms & conditions.
* Addresses invoice discrepancies from the purchase order or the goods receipt and approves invoice payment for any additional freight costs not accounted for on purchase order. * Liaises with the Technical team regarding project or turnaround purchases and potential bundles
* Handles any PO (purchase order) maintenance for orders processed (e.g. update PO text, update delivery date, etc.)

Additional technical knowledge:

  • Understands the specification requirements for valves and related products set by material master description, valve datasheet, GAD, nameplate such as
  • valve type (ball, check, butterfly, globe valve) and its data (size, class, body, bolting, face-to-face dimensions), painting requirements
  • actuator type (MOV, lever, gear, gearbox) and its accessories (VMK, control panel)
  • basic identification of the equipment (tag no, serial number)
  • basic identification of raw material (carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel) and understand the number identification of the grade of used materials (e.g. A350 LF2 Cl.1, A479 316/316L, Monel, Inconel, etc.,)

Essential skills and knowledge

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
  • Possess 3- 5 years of experience in the Buyer Field.
  • Behavioral Skills: adapts, analytical, collaborates, communicates effectively, focus on customers.
  • Technical Skills- Hands-on experience in SAP is an added advantage.
  • Functional Skills: PTP (Procure-to-Pay) knowledge, system utilization & efficiency, total system cost, apply controls mindset, application of business & procurement technical knowledge, service excellence, contract development, contract management, negotiating and influencing, relationship management.
  • Having Plant experience and experience handling Upstream buying specifically for PAC islands(Ex:- Angola, Nigeria, etc.,)
