What are you going to do 

Our client is searching for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Engineer - E&I to join their dynamic team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This contract-based role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to exciting energy projects while working in an inspiring, safety-focused environment.

Role Responsibilities

  • Participates in site surveys, inspections and monitoring of E&I installation activities to ensure adherence to approved drawings and safety regulations.
  • Assist in the testing and commissioning of electrical equipment (Transformers, switchgears, motors, etc.) and instrumentation systems (PLC, DCS, SCADA, Field Instruments)
  • Support the inspection of materials and equipment upon delivery to ensure conformity with purchase orders and quality standards.
  • Liaise with other disciplines (mechanical, piping, civil) to resolve interface issues and ensure integrated project delivery.
  • Attend project meetings, site walks and technical review sessions as required.
  • Assist in preparing daily/weekly progress reports and technical documentation.
  • Ensure all E&I activities comply with project HSE plans and procedures.
  • Participate in risk assessments, tool talk and safety inspections.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.E./B. Tech) or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering from a recognized university.
  • 3+ years to 7+ years of experience in E&I maintenance, commissioning, or troubleshooting in industrial plants.
  • Site Experience: Hands-on experience with field instruments (transmitters, valves, sensors) and electrical systems (motors, panels) in a construction or operating plant environment.
