What are you going to do 

Our client, a major player in the oil and gas sector, is seeking an Advanced Process Control Specialist to support and enhance their complex operations. In this permanent position, you will play a key role in the ongoing monitoring, analysis, and improvement of Advanced Process Control (APC) schemes to drive optimized operational performance and safeguard asset integrity. You will be joining our client's team of dedicated professionals who are focused on safe, efficient, and reliable production.

Key Responsibilities:

APC Monitoring & Improvement

  • Monitor and analyze the mid and long-term technical performance of APC against internal and external benchmarks to ensure ongoing optimization.
  • Identify recurring APC problems and/or limitations and propose initiatives to ensure the development of sustainable solutions and capture various optimization opportunities.
  • Participate and lead Management of Change (MOC) for advance process control related changes, support other plant, and process changes from a process control perspective.
  • Track mid and long-term process technical performance using - among others - predefined and agreed technical and economical KPIs and assesses process control impact on the actual performance.
  • Provide guidance to Operations on the general and long-term advance process control strategy for specific units or sub-units to ensure optimized units.
  • Conduct internal and external process control and APC studies to ensure company alignment to industry leading practices.
  • Ensure that the ethylene unit and other units' APC are optimized and operate at high uptime.
  • Participating and help lead the digital transformation initiatives for Company.

  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for the continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices in order to increase productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Implement all relevant Section's policies, processes, procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

Quality, Health, Security, Safety and Environment

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and relevant quality, health, safety, security and environmental procedures and controls across the Department to guarantee employee safety and delivery of high-quality products/services.

Reporting

  • Contribute to the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet departmental requirements, policies, and standards.

Qatarization

  • Contribute to the development of Qatari employees. This accountability is applicable to expatriate employees only.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Control Engineering.
  • Required (2 Years / Job Level 3 / Industry): Minimum 5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry, out of which 3 years at an Analyst level in Advanced Process Control. Required ethylene and polyethylene manufacturing experience.
  • Preferred (2 Years / Job Level 3 / Industry): Experience in Petrochemicals Industry.
  • Required (Language / Level 4 ): English - Proficient.
  • Preferred (Language / Level 4): Arabic - Working Knowledge.
