Introduction
We are seeking experienced Water Well Drillers to join a permanent FIFO team supporting major Pilbara mining operations. You'll operate water well drilling equipment across established sites, working within a strong safety culture and alongside experienced drilling crews. What are you going to do
- Operate water well drill rigs and associated equipment safely and efficiently.
- Conduct drilling activities for production, monitoring and water well bores.
- Complete daily pre-start inspections and ensure drilling equipment is maintained to a high standard.
- Assist with routine maintenance, servicing and troubleshooting of drill rigs and auxiliary equipment.
- Monitor drilling performance, consumables and metres drilled to support production targets.
- Complete required drilling reports, safety documentation, permits and site records.
- Follow all site safety procedures, environmental requirements and safe work practices.
- Work closely with site supervisors, hydrogeologists, client representatives and other contractors.
- Maintain a clean, organised and hazard-free work area.
- Support rig mobilisation, demobilisation and movement between drill pads.
- Lead and mentor Driller Assistants, sharing knowledge and maintaining strong crew performance.
- Participate in toolbox meetings, pre-starts and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify and report hazards, equipment issues and changes to scope of work.
- Ensure all drilling activities are completed in accordance with company and client standards.

Essential skills and knowledge
- Previous experience working as a Water Well Driller is essential.
- Previous experience within the mining industry is highly regarded.
- FMG/Fortescue experience is highly desirable.
- Current Water Well Licence - Class 1.
- Current HR or HR-B Driver's Licence.
- Demonstrated ability to safely operate and maintain water well drilling equipment.
- Ability to lead or work effectively within a drilling crew.
- Strong understanding of mining site safety requirements.
- Ability to complete pre-starts, safety documentation and drilling reports.
- National Police Clearance.
- Ability to successfully complete a comprehensive pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.
- Full Australian working rights.
- Certificate III in Drilling Operations.
- Current First Aid and CPR.
- Additional high-risk work licences and relevant plant tickets.
