What are you going to do 

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Well Engineer to join their team. You will play a key role in delivering stimulation and some completion scopes of work to support the development activities. This role involves the design, planning, and execution of projects through a gated process, with a strong focus on well integrity. You will work closely with field teams to ensure safe and efficient operations, while driving continuous improvement and innovation.

This position is primarily office based, although regular field trips are expected to build understanding and relationships with field personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan wellsite execution, ensuring all equipment and services are organized, and operational programs, including risk assessments, are completed.
  • Execute well work in coordination with field teams, prioritizing safety and efficiency.
  • Optimize fracture stimulation designs and continuously improve operations.
  • Plan and execute well integrity assessments and remediation activities.
  • Manage operational changes and program deviations through the Engineering Change Management (ECM) framework.
  • Ensure all well designs and operations comply with company standards and government regulations.
  • Prioritize process safety in all well work planning and execution.
  • Lead well engineering projects from conception to field execution, including cost estimation, well design, operational programs, risk assessments, and technology implementation.
  • Review and generate change management documentation to assess impacts on risk, cost, and design functionality.
  • Coordinate and manage service providers, equipment, and materials.
  • Evaluate and implement value improvement initiatives.
  • Develop well integrity reports and assessments.
  • Promote continuous HSE improvement, aiming for zero harm.

Essential skills and knowledge

Essential:

  • Strong safety culture focus with the ability to influence positively.
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering.
  • Proficiency in upstream technical disciplines such as petroleum engineering, reservoir engineering, project management, geoscience, and environment.
  • Strong communication skills to drive collaborative results across various internal and external groups.
  • Operational experience in fracture stimulation.
  • Experience in fracture stimulation design. (Desirable)
  • Completion engineering design and operational experience.
  • Field experience in land-based oil and gas development projects.
  • High-level understanding of multi-disciplinary oil and gas upstream development.
  • Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ). (Desirable)
