Introduction

Brunel is partnering with a global flow control organisation, who are searching for a highly skilled Sales Engineer to join their team in QLD.

What are you going to do 

The Sales Engineer will spearhead sales, service and marketing initiatives for high-quality products, petrochemical valves and new product development initiatives within East Australia.

Responsibilities:

This client-facing position requires building relationships with customers, local sales team and agents to generate new business opportunities and customers. The Sales Engineer should be able to create demand for company to deliver the products and services required to be a successful solutions provider/ partner. This includes working directly with the customer base to grow our breadth of products and services to our customers as well as generate new business opportunities

  • Develop strategic sales plans to meet booking targets and drive business growth across East Australia.
  • Regularly visit customers to build relationships, identify new opportunities, and gain deep insights into their needs and buying behaviors.
  • Utilize tools such as Strategic Selling Blue Sheet and manage SFDC diligently to forecast sales and track performance.
  • Deliver compelling technical presentations and gather market intelligence to keep our offerings competitive.
  • Collaborate with inside sales engineers and cross-functional teams to craft tailored proposals and solutions.
  • Handle commercial negotiations and maintain robust partnerships with channel partners and stakeholders.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • University degree in mechanical engineering, instrumentation engineering or process control.
  • Extensive related experience in handling control valves or pumps projects.
  • Any prior experience or knowledge in Oil & Gas (midstream LNG production) and Power (Coal Fired, Combined cycle plants) will be added advantage.
  • A strong, confident and mature leader who is able to motivate, coach and mentor people and build teams.
  • Trustworthy, open & communicative individual, who is adaptable, stress-tolerant and goal-oriented.
  • Self-motivated, positive and enthusiastic, with initiative and drive, and a strong sense of urgency in solving problems.
  • Fluency in English with good communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills, as client-facing time is approximately 70-75%.
  • Strong intellect and business acumen, with a good understanding of cultural nuances.
  • Ability to travel within Australia & NZ. Estimated travel frequency is approx 40% of the time.
