Introduction

  • Ensure all civil, structural, architectural, infrastructure, and pipeline construction activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, ITPs, method statements, procedures, and applicable industry standards
  • Conduct Batch Plant Prequalification Audits and verify compliance with concrete production facilities, equipment calibration, material storage, quality control systems, and production processes

What are you going to do 

* Witness and review Concrete Trial Mix Designs to verify compliance with project specifications, strength requirements, workability, durability, and performance criteria* Perform inspections of excavation, backfilling, compaction, foundations, concrete works, reinforcement installation, formwork, embedded items, anchor bolts, concrete placement, curing, and finishing activities
* Inspect equipment foundations, machine foundations, transformer foundations, structural pedestals, and associated concrete works to ensure compliance with approved drawings and tolerances* Conduct inspection and testing of grouting works, including non-shrink grout installation beneath equipment bases, structural supports, and foundations
* Inspect passive fireproofing works for structural steel and equipment supports, ensuring compliance with approved specifications and manufacturer requirements* Verify material receiving inspections, material sampling, testing, storage conditions, and compliance with approved Material Approval Requests (MAR) and project requirements
* Witness field and laboratory testing activities, including soil compaction tests, field density tests, concrete slump tests, compressive strength tests, aggregate testing, asphalt testing, and other required quality tests* Conduct inspections of road works, including subgrade preparation, sub-base, road base, prime coat, tack coat, asphalt paving, compaction, thickness verification, level surveys, and pavement testing
* Perform inspections of building construction activities, including blockwork, masonry, plastering, waterproofing, screeding, flooring, ceiling installation, architectural finishes, and building painting works* Inspect pipeline trench excavation, trench preparation, bedding installation, pipe lowering activities, initial backfilling, padding, post-padding, and final backfilling works
* Conduct Right-of-Way (ROW) inspections to verify compliance with alignment, grading, environmental requirements, and project specifications* Inspect pipeline crossings, including road crossings, utility crossings, railway crossings, wadi crossings, and associated protection systems
* Perform inspections of culverts, drainage systems, retaining structures, channels, and related civil infrastructure works* Inspect construction of pipeline bund walls, storage tank dyke walls, containment systems, and associated concrete and earthworks
* Conduct inspection and verification of GRE (Glass Reinforced Epoxy) piping installation, leak testing activities* Perform inspections of HDPE piping installation, welding activities, visual inspection, pressure testing, and commissioning requirements
* Inspect structural steel fabrication and erection activities, including alignment, leveling, bolt tightening, welding, and installation tolerances* Review material delivery documents, mill certificates, test reports, calibration certificates, and inspection records to ensure compliance with project requirements
* Verify that approved materials are properly handled, stored, preserved, and utilized in accordance with project specifications* Coordinate with construction teams, engineering disciplines, clients, consultants, and contractors for inspection scheduling, hold points, witness points, and quality surveillance activities
* Review and maintain inspection reports, quality records, surveillance reports, punch lists, and turnover dossiers in accordance with project quality requirements* Identify non-conformities, raise NCRs, quality observations, and corrective action requests, and monitor implementation through closure
* Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with approved Quality Management Systems, Quality Plans, Procedures, and Project Specifications* Support implementation of Project Quality Management Systems and ensure compliance with applicable HSE requirements throughout all construction phases

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Civil/Structural/Architectural/Geological or equivalent degree and/or diploma with experience in quality Control in multi-discipline construction environment. Preferably having formal training in QC and membership with recognized or other professional institutions
  • Minimum 10 years of experience for Bachelor's degree holders or 15 years for Diploma holders in Quality Control Inspection of Civil, Structural, Architectural, and Pipeline construction activities, preferably within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Industrial, Infrastructure, and EPC projects
  • Extensive experience in inspection, testing, and quality assurance of civil and pipeline construction works, including concrete works, road works, building construction, underground utilities, storage tanks, and related infrastructure
  • Proven expertise in Batch Plant Prequalification Audits, Concrete Trial Mix Design Witnessing, material approval processes, field inspection, and quality documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of international codes, standards, and specifications, including QCS, ACI, ASTM, AASHTO, API, ASME, BS, ISO, and project-specific requirements
  • Demonstrated capability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and multicultural environments, coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and third-party inspection agencies
