Introduction

We're hiring a Sustaining Manager for our technology manufacturing client to join their team! You will be responsible for responsible for supporting and continuously improving our CDU product portfolio in production and in the field, serving hyperscale data centers and high-performance computing system. This is a Full Time Permanent position.

What are you going to do 

  • Oversee the sustaining mechanical engineering of our Coolant Distribution Units, ensuring design changes meet product development processes and project schedules.
  • Provide technical guidance to the team in performing thermal analysis, heat transfer simulations, stress analysis, root cause investigations, and materials selection for liquid-cooled solutions.
  • Manage the team's workload, prioritize tasks, and delegate effectively, while also focusing on building the team's technical knowledge, supporting career growth, and managing performance.
  • Establish change priorities based on business impact, quality risk, customer commitments, and manufacturing needs.
  • Coach, train, and guide team members to strengthen technical expertise, support career growth, and build future leaders within the organization.
  • Drive a culture of technical excellence, innovation, autonomy, and accountability.
  • Create and manage plans for department budgets, the growth of the team, and project execution roadmaps.
  • Drive cost reduction and Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives.
  • Partner effectively with Operations & Strategic Sourcing to align engineering deliverables with production requirements and timelines.
  • Collaborate and build strong working relationships with key industry partners and critical component vendors to promote a culture of continuous improvement and the adoption of best-in-class technology.
  • Participate in internal company-wide efforts with other departments focused on continuous improvement, process development, and the adoption of advanced technology.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar Engineering disciplines.
  • Minimum of 7 years of product development or sustaining engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of engineering leadership or people management experience.
  • Experience supporting products through production and field deployment.
  • Experience with configuration management and engineering change control processes.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, fluid systems, and thermal management & sensing technologies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
  • Strong knowledge of quality systems, reliability engineering, and product lifecycle management.
