- Define control architecture considering offshore constraints (space, redundancy,
- modularization, operability)
- Provide technical leadership across multi-module and multi-vendor environments
1.2 Compressor Control System Engineering
- Lead design and validation of compressor control for offshore applications:
o Anti-surge control
o Load sharing across multi-compressor trains
o Start-up/shutdown and emergency sequences
- Ensure reliable operation under transient and variable offshore process conditions
- Coordinate with factory and control system vendor on all control-related topics, tie-ins and documentation
1.3 Ownership of Key Engineering Deliverables (Module Integration Focus)
Accountable for development and review of:
- Control Philosophy aligned with offshore operability and safety
- Cause & Effect diagrams (ESD / F&G / PSD integration)
- Control Narratives for compressor and package systems
- ICSS / DCS system architecture for modular plants
- Interface definitions between modules, skids, and vendor systems
- Alarm philosophy for remote/offshore operations
- FAT/SAT of control system, field instrumentation and offshore commissioning documentation
1.4 Vendor & Package Integration (Multi-Skid / Offshore/ FPSO Environment)
- Lead interface with compressor OEMs, control system supplier and packaged equipment
suppliers
- Manage integration of multiple control systems across:
o Compressor & Gas Turbineskids
o Utility and process modules comprising air coolers, nitrogen package, gas treatment
package
o Electrical and safety systems
- Ensure alignment with ICSS integration strategy and offshore communication architecture
1.5 Field Instrumentation & Instrumentation Engineering
- Lead development and review of key instrumentation deliverables including instrument index, I/O list,
datasheets, specifications, hook-ups, installation details, cable/JB schedules, layouts,
wiring/interconnection diagrams, loop diagrams, cause& effect diagrams, philosophies, narratives
and design basis till as-built updates.
- Ensure proper selection, specification and requisition of field instruments such as pressure,
temperature, flow and level instruments, control/on-off/actuated valves, analyzers, metering skids and
package instrumentation.
- Verify instrument suitability for hazardous area classification, environmental/process conditions,
operability and maintainability.
1.6 Technical Safety, Workshops, Site & Offshore Project Support
- Ensure compliance with offshore project requirements:
o Functional safety (ESD, SIL)
o Availability, redundancy, and maintainability
- Support HAZOP, SIL, Alarm management, model reviews, and constructability reviews, participation
and close-out
2. Experience Requirements
- Strong experience in compressor control systems for offshore or modular plants
- Proven experience as control & instrumentation lead in offshore module projects (FPSO,
topsides, gas compression)
- Experience in multi-vendor package integration in ICSS/DCS environments
- Experience with module-based engineering and integration (yard and offshore phases)
- Commissioning or site experience in offshore environments
3. Experience Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electronics & Instrumentation, Electrical & Electronics,
Automation, Control Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, refining, offshore or EPC
projects, including detailed engineering and brownfield/greenfield execution.
- Experience working with Siemens PCS7, Schneider, Emerson, Yokogawa control systems or similar.
- Experience in Gas Compressor Control is a must
