Supervise SIT activities and pre-job preparations onshore to ensure the hydraulic workover unit and auxiliary equipment is fully functional prior to load out;
Ensure pre-job meeting with the crews is carried out for all operations.
Liaise with the Hydraulic Workover Unit Coordinator, for all equipment logistic and crew changes to ensure efficient operations;
Liaise with the Hydraulic Workover Unit Coordinator, to maintain an inventory of critical spare parts and yearly usage;
Maintain a monthly utilization log of the hydraulic workover unit and auxiliary equipment;
Lead in troubleshooting of hydraulic workover unit and auxiliary equipment malfunctions to ensure timely repairs;
Ensure the Completion & Workover Supervisor is informed on an ongoing basis as to the well programme objectives and communicate any changes in plans;
Monitor the maintenance, repair and installation of all hydraulic workover unit equipment including repair, lubrication, maintenance records, and inventory levels;
Maintain records of inspections and certification of the hydraulic workover unit equipment.
Ensure the hydraulic workover unit and auxiliary equipment are being monitored constantly and properly maintained to ensure efficient workover operations;
Partake in the daily operations meeting with the Completion & Workover Supervisor.
Partake in the daily operations calls to town with the Completion & Workover Supervisor & Completions Manager;
Act as performing authority for all workover related work permits;
Supervise equipment preparation for upcoming drilling operations;
Assist in planning the job activities including platform pre-job visits for crane and hydraulic workover unit installations;
Ensure that well control requirements are in place according to operational requirements - assist in supervising well killing operations in an emergency situation and perform all well control calculations;
Maintain the daily drilling operations report;
Recommend improvements for hydraulic workover unit operations;
Ensure subordinates understand and apply guidelines of the Company HSE manual and rig specific procedures;
Inform the Completion & Workover Supervisor of any incidents, potential hazards or abnormal situations;
Actively participate in the weekly Completions meetings;
Ensure that kick drills are carried out regularly and recorded;
Ensure a high standard of hygiene and housekeeping is maintained onboard the rig;
Actively promote the STAR card observation system;
Meet the training requirements as per the applicable training matrix;
Mentor, develop and train crew members to ensure they are competent to work at their next job level;
Provide leadership and motivation to hydraulic workover unit personnel;
Assist in training to ensure all personnel are competent to perform their allocated job;
Make recommendations for promotions.
Essential skills and knowledge
Basic computer skills in MS office;
High school diploma or equivalent; work experience and demonstrated ability of oral and written communications may be substituted in lieu of formal education;
Knowledge of all technical calculations required for the safe operation of the drilling activities.
Valid OGUK (Oil and Gas UK) approved Medical Certificate or equivalent;
Valid Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) Certificate;
Valid Well Control Certificate (Supervisor Level, Surface/Subsea BOP Stack issued by an institution approved by International Well Control Forum (IWCF));
Valid Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers Basic Safety Training (STCW BST);
15+ years of experience in the same capacity;
Strong HSE background and regulatory knowledge regarding the implementation and/or compliance with the various policies and standards;
Awareness of legislative, statutory requirements relevant to the Installation;
Experience in managing a diverse multicultural workforce;
Experience in managing multifunctional groups and multi-national teams;
Strong leadership, management and decision-making skills;
Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills;
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines;
Excellent English oral and written communication skills;
