Introduction

Brunel has partnered with a large resources operator on a contract opportunity for a Spatial Data Analyst to join an established regional project team. This role suits a spatial professional with strong Esri ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Pro experience, supporting users and managing data across an extensive operational footprint.

What are you going to do 

The primary role of the Spatial Data Analyst is to manage the spatial data generated by our WA operations and other external sources. They must be able to validate, process, update, and reconcile incoming and outgoing spatial data and ensure statutory compliance of spatial data and systems. They will also support a wide range of users to access and manage this data.

Key Responsibilites:

Supporting GIS Users

  • Triage support requests through current GIS request systems
  • Deliver how-to support, map generation and technical issue resolution
  • Consult with work groups to ensure GIS meets their needs
  • Deliver spatial data analysis, manipulation and visualisation

Maintain and Manage Spatial Data and Systems

  • Manage spatial data within enterprise geodatabases
  • Consult with internal and external data suppliers on data standards
  • Assess historical spatial data for ongoing business relevance
  • Create new spatial datasets as required
  • Maintain documentation, training material and media content across spatial systems

Problem Solving and Business Improvement

  • Troubleshoot technical issues across spatial data management systems
  • Quantify problem impacts to drive business cases and prioritise activity
  • Identify workflow and technology improvements for the GIS team and its users

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in Spatial Sciences, Environmental Science or similar
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working with spatial data
  • High-level experience with Esri's ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Pro is highly regarded
  • Experience supporting customers and other end users (highly regarded)
  • Python in a spatial data context (desirable)
  • Database management and/or SQL (desirable)
