Introduction

Brunel is currently partnering with a leading multinational petrochemical company to recruit an experienced Electrical Engineer.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a world-class manufacturing organization, where you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, integrity, and continuous improvement of electrical systems supporting safe and efficient plant operations.

What are you going to do 

  • Provide technical support for the operation, maintenance, and reliability of electrical systems across the plant.
  • Ensure electrical equipment complies with company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for electrical failures and develop long-term reliability improvements.
  • Support preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to maximize equipment availability.
  • Review and approve electrical engineering designs, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Manage electrical projects, plant modifications, upgrades, and capital improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Projects, and Engineering teams to support plant performance and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies, electrical safety standards, and permit-to-work procedures.
  • Support commissioning, start-up, shutdown, and turnaround activities as required.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical engineering within the petrochemical, refinery, chemical, oil & gas, LNG, or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems, motors, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPS, generators, and protection systems.
  • Experience with electrical maintenance, reliability engineering, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with international engineering standards such as IEC, IEEE, NFPA, and other relevant codes.
  • Experience with SAP PM or other computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.
