Introduction
The Cost Lead will take full ownership of project cost control, budget management, forecasting, and commercial reporting for site-based mining infrastructure and capital project works. Reporting to project leadership, this role ensures rigorous financial governance, early identification of cost variances, strict change management control, and transparent cash flow alignment across multi-disciplinary site operations and contractor packages.
What are you going to do

Budget & Cost Control Management: Establish, maintain, and monitor project cost baselines, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), and Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) across site projects.

Cost Forecasting & Variance Analysis: Perform continuous cost-to-complete (CTC), estimate at completion (EAC), and variance analyses against approved budgets, providing early warnings on potential budget overruns.

Contractor Commercial & Valuation Oversight: Review contractor progress claims, payment certificates, variations, and commercial claims to ensure strict alignment with contract terms and verified site progress.

Change Management & Variation Control: Implement and govern a disciplined change management framework, auditing trend notifications, potential variation orders (PVOs), and budget reallocation requests.

Earned Value & Cash Flow Integration: Work closely with the Planning Lead to integrate cost reporting with physical progress (Earned Value Management) and maintain accurate cash flow forecasts.

Executive Financial Reporting: Deliver clear monthly cost dashboards, financial accruals, commitment tracking, and risk exposure reports for executive client leadership.
Essential skills and knowledge

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Finance/Accounting, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Total Experience: 8-10+ years of total experience in cost engineering, cost control, or quantity surveying within heavy industrial, remote construction, or major mining projects.

Leadership Experience: Minimum 5 years in a Lead or Managerial capacity overseeing cost control teams and managing large capital project budgets ($50M+ USD portfolio experience preferred).

Technical Software: Advanced proficiency in cost control software (Prism, SAP, or proprietary cost management systems) and advanced Excel financial modeling.

Site Adaptability: Proven track record working in remote, FIFO environments with complex logistical and contractor operational setups.

Language Proficiency: Business-fluent English and Bahasa Indonesia (written and spoken).
