What are you going to do 

We are seeking an experienced Buyer / Expeditor to support procurement and supply chain activities for offshore platform and FPSO projects. This role is responsible for purchasing materials and equipment, ensuring timely supplier execution, and expediting deliveries while maintaining required quality standards to support project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute purchasing activities for materials and equipment in line with project requirements
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders in compliance with technical specifications and contractual terms
  • Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness, reliability, and quality
  • Conduct supplier follow-up to monitor order progress and ensure adherence to delivery schedules
  • Track and expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery to meet project milestones
  • Coordinate procurement documentation, including purchase orders, inspection reports, test certificates, and shipping documents
  • Act as the primary point of contact for supplier communication regarding order status, delivery commitments, and technical clarifications
  • Identify potential delays or risks and proactively implement mitigation actions
  • Review non-conformance reports (NCRs) and work with suppliers to resolve quality and delivery issues
  • Support supplier audits by addressing procurement, delivery, and quality performance matters
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, QA/QC, logistics, and project teams to ensure smooth execution
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, buying, or expediting within: Offshore platform projects or FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) projects
  • Solid experience in supplier follow-up, order tracking, and delivery expediting
  • Knowledge of material/equipment procurement processes in oil & gas or offshore sectors
  • Familiarity with quality requirements, inspection processes, and non-conformance resolution
  • Experience working on Middle Eastern projects is highly preferred
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple orders and prioritize under tight deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline
  • Experience in EPC project environments
  • Familiarity with international standards (API, ASME, ISO, etc.)
  • Experience using ERP systems (e.g., SAP) for procurement and tracking
  • Supplier coordination & relationship management
  • Strong follow-up and expediting skills
  • Attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Problem-solving and proactive issue resolution
  • Time management and ability to meet deadlines
