Introduction

Our client are a Tier 3 builder with projects across Queensland in the Government, Defense, Aged Care, Healthcare and Commercial industries. They're looking to bring on board a new Project Engineer due to an increase in workload.With 15+ years already operating within the industry and a vast wealth of construction knowledge amongst their senior staff, they're on an incredible journey of growth with turnover growing year on year ($100m+ last year across QLD). You'll be joining at a pivotal moment of growth as this begins to taper off in the coming few years cementing their place in the market.
The initial project for the PE will likely be a $15m+ government build south of Brisbane depending on experience.

About this role

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing various aspects of our projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard. Duties include:
  • Assist in the planning and execution of projects including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee daily operations on site, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the project team, ensuring all construction activities align with engineering standards and project specifications.
  • Identify and resolve any issues that may arise during the construction process, mitigating risks and ensuring project continuity.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and project schedules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in the commercial construction or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore etc).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
