Introduction

Our client are a Tier 3 builder with projects across Queensland in the Government, Defense, Aged Care, Healthcare and Commercial industries. They're looking to bring on board a new Design Coordinator due to an increase in workload.

With 15+ years already operating within the industry and a vast wealth of construction knowledge amongst their senior staff, they're on an incredible journey of growth with turnover growing year on year ($100m+ last year across QLD). You'll be joining at a pivotal moment of growth as this begins to taper off in the coming few years cementing their place in the market.

The Design Coordinator will report directly into the Project and Construction Managers.

About this role

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure cohesive and efficient design processes.Assist in managing design projects from conception through to completion, ensuring timelines and budgets are adhered to.
Oversee the preparation and review of design documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards and regulations.Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all design work meets the highest standards.
Act as the point of contact for clients regarding design matters, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.Identify and resolve design-related issues promptly to avoid project delays and ensure smooth execution.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience working within a design environment (main contractor or consultancy side)
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality.
  • Proactive and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Knowledge of Australian building codes and standards.
