Brunel is excited to highlight our first successful Commissioning project delivered in Singapore, in partnership with International Commissioning & Engineering (ICE)! Full details of what the project entails can be found below.
In January 2021, discussions kickstarted between a potential client and Brunel-ICE. The client was in the process of building a greenfield synthesised Chemical Plant in Tuas, Singapore. In the semi-conductor industry, the plant and the synthesised gases produced are critical for the manufacturing processes.
Due to the evolving Covid-19 pandemic situation back then, the client was unable to mobilise their personnel from the US to Singapore to manage the Construction project through Commissioning & Start-Up processes & phases. With an established global presence of 110+ offices in more than 40 countries around the world, Brunel-ICE readily provided our expertise by accessing the broad pool of commissioning manpower for this project.
Brunel-ICE initially undertook a 2 week review of the project status to identify the readiness for Commissioning & Start-up as well as to spot any areas of opportunity for schedule optimisation. The output of this review was provided in a report that identified both opportunities for optimisation, and risks that were required to be mitigated.
Through our Project Risk Assurance (PRA) model, we were able to suggest solutions to assist the client.
Brunel-ICE continued working with the client to propose an integrated approach to assist with the project by providing the following services:
In May 2021, Brunel-ICE’s began working on site with the client. Proposed solutions were being implemented with a bespoke organisation of 21 personnel, complementing the client’s existing site team. These personnel included CSU Manager, Technical Discipline Personnel, Technical Admin and Technicians etc.
Brunel-ICE’s capabilities and readiness led to a successful completion and delivery of scope within 6 months. We managed to assist in reducing the schedule that would otherwise have been achieved, ensuring that production was accomplished ahead of time.
