About this role

You will act as the main Supplier Quality interface among Suppliers, Purchasing, Engineering and Integrated Supply Chain Management;

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Execute and manage the implementation of Global and Regional Supplier Quality strategies;
  • Support sourcing strategies by coordinating with Purchasing, Engineering and Manufacturing;
  • Perform and participate in supplier evaluation and qualifications;
  • Perform Advanced Quality Planning (AQP) including:
    • Material Forecasting and Follow Up;
    • On site reviews to ensure On Time Delivery;
    • Management of engineering changes with suppliers as it relates to project timing;
    • Material Buy Off and component requirement approval (including PPAP);
    • Communication of timing risks to Project Management, including recovery plans;
  • Lead problem solving efforts for supplier related Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs);
  • Collect supplier information to prepare reports on supplier performance;
  • Provide training & feedback to supplier to implement steps to improve supplier performance;
  • Participate and/or lead the supplier development process with suppliers;
  • Drive and support all World Class Manufacturing (WCM) supplier improvement initiatives.

About you

  • 4 year degree preferred or extensive experience in manufacturing and/or supplier quality;
  • 3 years in supplier quality preferred;
  • Possess the ability to read, interpret and communicate company/Customer prints, specifications and dimensional tolerances;
  • Experienced in interacting with cross-functional team members;
  • Knowledge of Quality concepts and tools such as Measurement Systems Analysis, Inspection Techniques, Control Plans, Problem Solving and Kaizens;
  • Knowledge of auditing processes such as Process Planning and Audit, 8 Stages of Incoming Material or 5 Questions for Zero Defects is preferred;
  • Advance knowledge of Statistical Techniques, Process Capability, PPAP, Design & Process FMEAs, and Advanced Problem Solving Tools is preferred;
  • Knowledge of key processes such as machining, welding, casting or other critical manufacturing processes is preferred;
  • Knowledge of Non-conforming Material Reporting (NCR) process;
  • Ability to travel locally to supplier locations and company facilities;
  • Quality certifications preferred;
  • Certified Welding Inspector preferred.
