AutoCAD Plant Designer

About this role

Responsibilities

• Prepare drawing packages that adhere to project specification, budget and schedule
• Work together with Engineering, vendors and clients to check, maintain, clarify or resolve compliance with various project or national requirements/codes think creatively and critically about system designs, laying out equipment in ways that maximize safety, accessibility, constructability and maintenance, while limiting cost and complexity
• Provide an important backstop in checking technical details, ensuring that every system is accurately depicted and can be built as designed. Day-to-day drafting/design work
• Develop and maintain standards for the company and play a critical role in document and revision management
• maintain our CAD libraries, building and updating them as needed to speed design work, eliminate repetitive tasks and ensure accuracy across projects Understands and utilizes the IT tools used internally to provide problem resolution and support to our customers

About you

Requirements

• Associate or bachelor’s degree
• 5 years’ CAD drafting/design or equivalent experience, with use of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Plant 3D
• Working knowledge of drafting standards and practices
• Proficiency in PDM/EPDM/Vault software
• Proficiency in other CAD platforms (SOLIDWORKS, PDMS, SmartPlant)
• Familiarity with process and mechanical design technical documents (P&IDs, equipment drawings, piping isometrics, etc.)
• Familiarity with ASME piping and vessel standards
• Conceptual ability to work in 2D and 3D simultaneously
• A passion for detail, accuracy and workmanship
• Time management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects/priorities in a fast-paced and changing environment
• Team mentality with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Self-motivated and ability to work with limited oversight
