About this role

You will be the expert in managing the Plant Risk & Reliability Team and providing leadership for the risk and reliability program, planned/preventative maintenance program, and root cause failure analysis/plant troubleshooting for the Plant.

You will be part of a dynamic team who manages the availability of and compliance with strong, effective, robust reliability processes, systems and engineering standards.

Other duties will include:

  • Ensuring compliance with internal HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations
  • Implementing safety behavioral initiatives and ensuring participation at every level of responsibility
  • Reducing the risk profile, by active ownership of the reliability risk management system and the provision of specialist technical support
  • Strategic mapping of critical reliability processes, building a structure of ownership of these critical reliability processes at all levels throughout the company
  • Ensuring strong, effective, robust engineering standards, building a structure of ownership of these engineering standards at all levels throughout the company
  • Budgeting and tracking spend and effectiveness

About you

  • Degree in Mechanical, Materials, Metallurgical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in maintenance and/or engineering of a petrochemical manufacturing plant, power generation or similar heavy industry environment. Leadership experience - Minimum 5 yrs. experience in either leading a reliability team or managing a manufacturing facility.
  • Technical: Technically competent with respect to the management of one or more of the following Pressure equipment, Rotating equipment, and Instrument/Electrical systems
  • Knowledge of static plant equipment and good knowledge of materials, failure mechanisms, fabrication and repair processes and procedures
  • Familiarity with Safety Management Systems.
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems.
  • Familiarity with Manufacturing Excellence models, systems and processes relating to asset capability and reliability.
  • Familiarity with Turnaround management systems.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP PM or equivalent
  • Experienced in risk identification, analysis, and mitigation strategies.
