Our client, a global manufacturing company, is seeking a Director of Operations to join their team. This position will be responsible for overseeing five manufacturing sites across Canada and the US, as well as the supply chain function, including purchasing, materials management, manufacturing, product quality, EHS, site security and maintenance. The Director of Operations will have direct reports and will be part of a leadership council comprised on top leaders in the company making strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Baseline and improve on time delivery for all manufacturing sites
  • Drive world class product quality that differentiates the organization’s products from competition
  • Baseline and drive productivity improvement applying lean and six sigma principles
  • Set the highest EHS standards
  • Drive a culture where quality, EHS, and productivity-improvement is every employees responsibility and commitment
  • Develop supply chain talents including plant manager and front line supervisor pipeline
  • Collaborate with engineering, product management and the commercial team on successful product development and product launches
  • Be the trusted advisor to the CEO and the Board in investment decisions, and drive execution
  • Own on time delivery with highest quality eliminating the need for rework or warranty repair

About you

Requirements

  • Multi-site manufacturing leadership experience in make to order machinery assembly, ideally obtained in other agricultural OEMs
  • Demonstrated leadership creating followership and culture
  • Demonstrated application of lean and six sigma tools improving quality, productivity and on time delivery
  • Thirst for excellence
  • Team player who not only owns and excels in his functional area but collaborates effectively and proactively with the rest of the organization for the greater good of the company
