About this role: Principal Advisor – Communications

Brunel has an exciting job opportunity for a Principal Advisor – Communications working on a direct hire basis with our client who are a large global mining company located in Salt Lake City, Utah.

They are looking for a Principal Advisor – Communications that will develop and manage strategic communications in line with the business priorities, playing an essential role in educating all key audiences such as government, NGO’s and community organizations, host community (Town of Superior), Copper Communities and other communities.

It will be important for the Principal Advisor to promote the potential benefits of the project in a proactive way, and also promote our clients strong record of integrity and responsible development, most importantly including safety and commitment to leading Environmental, Social and Governance practices.

What you need to bring:

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • College/University Education: BA education in Journalism or Communications
  • Advanced knowledge of managing communications across a broad range of media platforms, including working with the press, and digital media communications.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to take highly technical and complex information and deliver a refined message that resonates with various audiences.
  • Experience facilitating cross-functional teams to serve as nerve centers to coordinate and integrate, rather than merely disseminate information. In doing so, these teams – the best of which include representation from diverse departments – seek to achieve a more cohesive company voice and tie the impact of communications to measurable business outcomes.
  • Ability to build relationships with a wide group of external stakeholders, adversaries as well as supporters.
  • Be team-oriented, pro-active, results-driven, innovative and collaborative approach, with experience in working in a matrix organization.
