We are hiring a VP of Supply Chain Operations for our client, a Pharmaceutical company based in Montreal, to join their executive team. The VP of Supply Chain Operations serves as the primary focal point between Sales & Finance and the greater Operations team. He/she provides overall day to day leadership of and direction to the supply chain operations. He/she is responsible for managing all aspects of demand & supply planning, order management, logistics, inventory control and returns. Designs and executes strategies and plans to meet company’s short-term and long-term supply chain management requirements.

About this role


  • Manages day to day activities of supply chain operation including order entry, demand & supply planning, logistics inventory control and returns. Provides day to day leadership & direction to supply chain ops team
  • Primary contact point for contract manufacturer and/or ODM on all commercial and operational topics.
  • Takes complete ownership of complex supply chain issues, works across and supply base at all levels to engage appropriate individuals and drive resolution of issues.
  • Requires minimal supervision and direction.
  • Understands the greater business implications of issues and requirements and appropriately applies that knowledge to setting priorities, recommending solutions and driving timelines for closure.
  • Leads Sales and Operations Planning process (S&OP), i.e. demand and supply planning. Raises supply chain related issues and engages the appropriate Sales, PLM and Finance leaders to reach resolution.
  • Serves as primary contact point for Sales for demand planning to ensure forecast information is accurate and complete.
  • Serves as primary contact point for contract manufacturer and/or ODM for supply planning to ensure supply is sufficient and deliveries are timely and meet Sales’ requirements.
  • Accountable for ensuring all necessary manufacturing and shipments are made to support monthly and quarterly financial goals.
  • Implements and manages KPI’s as appropriate to ensure delivery service levels, production performance and inventory goals are met.
  • Drives continuous improvement and process improvement projects aimed at achieving best in class performance.
  • Ensures Inventory Control processes meet corporate and audit requirements
  • Ensures the highest level of efficiency and accuracy of information flow between the Sales & Finance functions to and from the Operations team. Provides outbound business reports, analysis, communication and recommendations to wider senior level audience.
  • Develops and maintains strong, collaborative relationships within the Sales & Finance organizations.
  • Functions effortlessly across organizational boundaries and is comfortable working with all levels within the company and within the supply base.
  • Often required to take the lead in analyzing and evaluating business situations and make decisions or recommendations for further action.
  • Proactively steps back, assesses and re-evaluates processes, policies, systems and/or tools and proposes & drives changes that improve efficiency, accuracy, quality and timeliness of information.
  • Individual may be asked to lead a strategic project to drive improvements.

  • Minimum 5 years of management experience.
  • A working knowledge of consumer electronics and carrier operations is a plus.
  • Self-starter and seasoned leader who develops the appropriate internal and external networks to enable him/her to make decisions and provide direction with minimal supervisory direction. Individual is self-correcting and ensures that decisions & recommendations are fact-based and represent an accurate and complete assessment of the situation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and confident presenting conclusions and recommendations to an audience of subordinates, peers or senior executives. Communication is done in a professional manner using materials commensurate with the level and expectations the audience.
  • Maintains an up to date knowledge of current & emerging issues within the supply chain
  • Bachelor’s degree. Advanced technical degree or MBA desirable.
