About this role

  • As a Safety Advisor at one of the World’s leading oil and gas operator companies, you will be giving health and safety support to the site leadership team and the EPC contractor organization at the site. You will establish and implement project site specific safety and security plans, and then monitor these – investigating issues, evaluating metrics and reporting as required. You’ll advise the site project team, so that safety requirements, any local regulations, and best practices, are instructed and adhered to;
  • You will also be a trainer, as well as a safety expert. You will coordinate the SSHE training program. You’ll promote safety awareness and initiatives that will roll out across the project team personnel, contractor and subcontractors;
  • You will be comfortable working in harsh environments. You are used to travelling and living away from home;
  • You will need to be experienced. Persuasive. Authoritative. Tough. Others listen to you and defer to your judgement in SSH&E matters. After all, it’s you keeping the project incident-free for another 24 hours.

About you

In this role you will also be involved in:-

  • Regular feedback and reporting to Project Team members, promoting safe performance;
  • Encourage a high standards SSH&E culture; provide safety inductions to new team members and site visitors; set safety expectations and review contractor safety policies, rules and procedures;
  • Review and/or critique incidents, prepare training support for drills and emergency response as required;
  • Collect and share company lessons between site and outside organizations where appropriate, including ensuring compliance with the site work permit system and area.

You read, write and speak fluent English, and you have experience working in multicultural/multilingual situations. You don’t need training, because you have the skills and experience that gets results.

Must haves:

  • Prefer college level education or equivalent;
  • Demonstrated work experience in construction safety-related positions (including some prior oil and gas experience);
  • Knowledge of security processes and procedures;
  • Demonstrated ability (through past project successes) to deliver excellence in project SSH&E performance;
  • At least 10 years of experience, plus safety certifications.

It’s a significant role. For a significant person. If that’s you, we want to hear from you today.
