We’re hiring a Regulatory Risk Specialist for our client, an Oil and Gas company in Calgary. The ideal candidate will ensure the implementation and continuous improvement of SLMS Risk Management Program. The successful incumbent will interact with SLMS program owners, staff and consultants responsible for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of pipeline systems. Programs including: Health and Safety, Environment, Security, Integrity, Damage Prevention, Emergency Preparedness, Design, Construction, Operations and Maintenance.

About this role

Responsibilities

  • Ensure SLMS Risk Management Program is aligned to both Enterprise Risk Management and TEML’s SLMS Standard;
  • Support SLMS Programs in managing risk including risk assessments, risk analysis, risk evaluation and risk control;
  • Lead in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the SLMS Legal Registry;
  • Lead in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the SLMS Hazard Inventory;
  • Provide training and informational sessions with SLMS stakeholders;
  • Assist SLMS program owners in risk mitigation, including the development of processes and procedures;
  • Participate in the preparation of incident reports and CAPAP;
  • Participate in regulatory activities including audits and inspections;
  • Access resource requirements and assist in budgets.

About you

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field;
  • 5 years’ experience in risk management in the Oil and Gas Industry as it relates to pipeline design, construction and operations;
  • Experience with the development and implementation of safety and loss management systems;
  • Familiarity with CSA Z662-15, National Energy Board Onshore Pipeline Regulations, Canadian Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and Saskatchewan and Manitoba Provincial Pipeline legislation;
  • Proficient in data collection, management, QA/QC, data interpretation, analysis and summary;
  • Proactive skills in seeking out ways to add continuous improvement to the organization;
  • High degree of personal initiative and ability to work effectively, both independently and in a multi-discipline team environment, as well as, strong leadership acumen.
