About this role

As Project Planner you will prepare and maintain the Master Project Schedule, using established tools and methodologies and using your previous experience. You’ll need to understand the technical scope of work, sequencing and duration of major activities. This is where the critical paths analysis becomes a priority, as you’ll provide ad-hoc reports, “what-if” scenarios, and any other events/factors that will assist the project achieve completion on schedule.

As well as flying solo, there’s teamwork: the Project Planner will need to forecast and integrate work execution plans of contractors and operators, and collect all necessary information from other disciplines in a timely and collaborative manner.

Accurate forecasting requires monitoring of the project. For this you’ll be developing, maintaining and updating S-Curves and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), providing narrative descriptions for reports, and consolidating inputs from various disciplines for the project management
team to review. As part of your scope you will also be reviewing and evaluating the schedules of all contractors including their progress measurement systems, to ensure all the elements of the project are on the same page, and on track.

Other Responsibilities

  • Provide project plans/schedules and schedule analysis to enable other project team members to plan and organize their respective work and schedules
  • Track and monitor the progress of the project including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and installation
  • Implements and monitors the schedules of each project stage and the entire project through completion and close-out
  • Oversees the planning elements of the change control procedures and captures the changes within the project planning package, and implements the schedule element of the risk management plan

You’ll be working across teams, as well as external parties. One day you’ll be liaising with immigration for work permits, the next you’ll be on site dealing with technical professionals as well as supplier and client colleagues. You’ll be building your expertise every day.

About you

Your Education & Experience

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, or Operations Management
  • 3 to 7 years of relevant project management experience in the oil and gas sector
