About this role

As the Project Manager you will be developing full end-to-end project plans, including critical planning, project reviews, and all execution to specifications, on budget and on time. You’ll be the point of contact for stakeholders for the duration of a project, for all commercial and non-commercial related issues.

In this role, you’ll have real ownership of the full project life cycle. If you have already worked on specific areas, then now is the time to pull all your project management experience together in a more senior role.

Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you’ll be leading from the very start. You’ll identify required project results, based on defined scope, quality criteria and lead times. You’ll set up the Project Management Structure to determine the project approach, and prepare the project initiation document (PID). This will include detail such as underlying plans, setup of project controls, detailed final budget and required resources, all based on the Project Approach and final customer contract.

You’ll have excellent client-facing and internal communication skills, written and verbal (bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus). You’ll be building and maintaining a network of internal and external stakeholders and partners to ensure excellent understanding throughout. You’ll be coordinating internal resources and maintaining relationships with third parties and vendors for the seamless execution of projects.

There’s a strong leadership element in here. You’ll be engaging the Project Management Team, motivating employees through active team-building and using feedback processes. You’ll be delegating project tasks based on your assessment of junior staff members’ individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels, supporting their development in the organization. You’ll be facilitating team and line cooperation, through your own strong interpersonal skills and your ability to work well with different teams across the organization.

Your ability to review data will help with project evaluation, identifying lessons learned, and handing the project over to the customer.

You’ll use your critical thinking and decision-making skills to respond to high pressure situations. You’ll be working with sensitive information on occasion and will need to be discreet. You’ll be highly proactive, seeking out additional opportunities, and following up persistently.

At all times, you’ll follow safety rules, regulations, procedures, instructions, guidelines and raise safety awareness at all levels.

It’s not a position for just anyone.

If you are eager to learn and grow, can handle unstructured work environments, take the lead and the responsibility, then it could be for you.

About you

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical or equivalent (Bachelor's Degree in Naval Engineering is a plus)
  • 5+ years of PM experience in Oil & Gas or Dredging industry and Shipbuilding
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is a plus

Additional attributes

  • Able and interested in learning new software programs
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Tie all your knowledge, skills and expertise together at this world-class organization. There’s an excellent package on offer, with full medical (health, dental, vision, PTO and retirement plan). The company will invest in you, while you focus on the job.
