About this role

As the Senior Pipeline Designer you will be working under an experienced lead engineer. You’ll be preparing detailed mechanical design calculations for an offshore project. Your efforts will contribute to the pipeline route selection, wall thickness design, on-bottom stability analysis, free span analysis, expansion analysis, and cathodic protection design;


  • Producing, coordinating and checking offshore pipeline analysis results;
  • Preparing calculations, reports, specifications, and helping develop drawings associated with offshore pipeline engineering work;
  • Providing procurement support related to pipeline design and installation engineering, including aiding in the generation of material take-offs, cost estimates, scopes of work, and the provision of technical clarifications;
  • Attending meetings and participating as a Company representative in Client or vendor meetings;
  • Preparing comprehensive technical reports and, as necessary, review written reports by others for validity and soundness of conclusions and recommendations;
  • Providing bid/tender engineering support related to pipeline design and installation engineering.

About you


  • 5-10 years’ experience;
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Ocean Engineering;
  • Experience with Abaqus finite-element software;

Highly Desirable:

You will be an outstanding candidate if you can be the technical specialist for the organization in the application of advanced concepts, principles, and methods in the field of offshore pipelines. You will get extra points if you gained industry knowledge through resolving crucial issues, or worked in unique issues in the past;

  • Experience with pipeline routing/spanning software, such as Fledermaus and Sage;
  • Knowledge of pipelay methods (S-Lay, J-Lay, Reel-Lay) and their impact on in-place operational design;
  • Excellent computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MathCad. Knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus;

Your Skills:

  • Team-oriented, with excellent communication and a great work ethic;
  • Familiar with U.S. and international design codes and practices used for offshore pipeline engineering;
  • Solid knowledge of pipeline hydraulics, mechanical design, control and protection systems, repair methods, and pipeline technology;
