About this role

As Senior Operations Advisor, the focus of your role is revolves around five key areas: production capacity, product quality, HSE performance, operational reliability and competitiveness of your assigned assets.

You’ll be using your project management and supervision experience gained through various project lifecycle phases. Whether this is in operations, construction, commissioning/startup, QA/QC or operator training and safety, your expertise will inform and advise the expansion phase of this major plant.


  • Overseeing the HSE performance for operating department and associated assets
  • Sustaining and improving capacity, compliance, capability, and availability, (e.g. utilization, mechanical availability, performance gaps, operations availability, unplanned/unbudgeted loss, yields)
  • Managing internal assurance systems and resolving audit findings, as well as making investigation recommendations
  • Maximizing the effectiveness of the Operations Team
  • Managing risk within and across production units
  • Developing the leadership capacity of personnel
  • Managing department level compliance assurance, participate in site compliance audits & assessments; prioritize & close findings (e.g. housekeeping, PSM, VPP & ISO audits, PSSRs)
  • Assuring ESP/RCM exceptions are monitored and addressed, and leading the team in managing abnormal situations including Red Tag Drills, alarm management, etc.

This position is based in Downtown Houston, with travel to site.

About you


  • 15+ years of refinery experience
  • Strong technical process understanding of refinery and/or petrochemical plant operations

Your Skills:

  • Proven track record in dealing with complex issues and generating alternative ideas
  • Able to make critical, time-sensitive decisions to resolve issues that will impact daily operations
  • Team-oriented, with excellent communication and a strong safety record
