About this role

As Operations Advisor, you’ll be the primary contact for design and field operating issues for a world-scale Ethylene Cracker and supporting OSBL (utilities, general facilities, storage and hydrocarbon logistics).

If you have 10-15 years of experience on furnace or ethylene cracker operating processes, then this Operations Advisor role will be a career highlight. You’re purpose is to optimize production while maintaining a strong safety and environmental compliance focus.

This role requires leadership qualities in addition to practical experience in the field. If you have experience bringing on and managing small-to-medium teams of operating personnel, then this is a great step up, working on a large-scale production facility.

Duties:

  • Defining the Plant and Equipment Isolation procedures
  • Drafting and refining the operations philosophy and behaviors and communicating these to all team members
  • Using 3D modelling for unit familiarization and to identify risks and potential solutions within and across production units
  • Empower a safe team environment and establish work relationships with onsite and offsite functional groups as needed
  • Participate in Process Hazard Analyses and Process Safety Management activities

Operations must run safely, as well as at high capacity. You’ll be involved in developing the HSE philosophy for the plant, building on the foundations already in place. And you’ll be setting up the team – supporting shift-based operating personnel on the ground, selecting and training new team members, and ensuring knowledge is kept up to date at all times.

About you

Required:

  • 10-15 years of refinery experience (at least 5 years of managing shift-based personnel)
  • Experience of HAZOP training (and related safety certifications)
  • Up to date knowledge of petrochemicals field in operations

Your Skills:

  • Leadership: able to assess operating personnel, identify and execute training as needed, ensuring safe operating at all times
  • Expertise: able to understand 3D rendering software in order to identify potential issues in the field
  • Analysis: able to gather information from all relevant disciplines, able to influence and persuade others in improving design and execution
  • Judgement: able to make critical, time-sensitive decisions to resolve issues that will impact daily operations

To get the job done, you’ll be team-oriented, with strong communication skills and an excellent safety record.
This role is fundamental to the ongoing success of the projects and we are looking for multiple applicants. Successful candidates will become valuable and highly rewarded members of the team. Take the first step and apply today.
