Mechanical Technician

Hertfordshire - East of England - United Kingdom - Energy - Oil & Gas - Engineering & Design - Academic Bachelor

Keeping the lights on is one of those jobs that most of us just take for granted as “something that happens”, but it takes a really skilled team to do it.

That team wants to train the next generation.

Apprenticeships, HNCs and degrees give you a great base of knowledge, being part of a team that really cares about developing your skills is what takes you to the next level.

About this role

You’ll be working in Hertfordshire for one of the UK’s biggest power generators and energy suppliers.

Day to day, you will be working on mechanical maintenance activities at the power station. This includes planning, contracting, preparing risk assessments and carrying out physical mechanical maintenance on the site.

But don’t worry, you won’t be on your own.

You will be under the supervision of the Maintenance Team Leader who will be there to mentor you and answer any questions you may have.

About you

There is real flexibility in the requirements for this job. You could have a background in the forces, worked in an FMCG facility, maybe even at a power plant somewhere else.

A mechanical qualification of some level is the one key point, an IOSH qualification in Managing Safely would be ideal but if you don’t have that, no problem- we still want to hear from you.

What we offer

This is a permanent contract with a salary up to £40,000 depending on experience.

The pension contributions are employee 5% and employer 10%.
