About this role

Brunel is seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector for offshore systems. You’ll need a Welding Inspection Certificate (CSWIP 3.1 with NDE) and expertise on mechanical systems.

You’ll be inspecting and ensuring that proper mechanical systems procedures are followed and proper documentation is maintained for all inspections and assessments. All activities must be performed in accordance with latest industry standards, and company safety requirements.

Primary duties

  • Reviewing plans and specifications relating to installation and maintenance of all mechanical systems for oil and gas projects
  • Providing technical supervision and assistance for mechanical systems
  • Leading and managing the inspection process through effective coordination and communication using a range of tools and methods
  • Monitoring project progress, inspecting all completed work for deficiencies and recommending remediation
  • Reporting satisfactory completion and approving contractor payment requests
  • Inform Chief Inspector immediately of any safety deviations, problems and/or anticipated problems and potential remediation
  • Comply with safety standards as outlined in the company’s Health and Safety Handbook and those prescribed by the job site location and conditions

About you

You have a Welding Inspector certificate (CSWIP 3.1) NDE Level II in Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrate (PT) and Radiographic test techniques (RT).

You have:-

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience in Oil and Gas
    At least 4 years of experience working on FPSO projects (offshore)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Mechanical Codes and Standards
  • Able to use Microsoft Office Suite and other similar applications to document and record inspections

There’s offshore travel involved, as much of the work is done at site. You’ll be conducting inspections at high elevations and in confined spaces. You’ll be leading site meetings with personnel, and can communicate effectively across teams and functions.
