About this role

With your 20+ years’ experience, the content you deliver will underscore the value and importance of training. As a Learning Development Coordinator, you will support all aspects of internal training by performing tasks directly related to the creation and delivery of training projects and initiatives. As the coordinator and developer of the project content, you will coordinate and manage content related to a learning management system along with employee development, certifications and career pathing.

  • Working with Manager of Project Excellence, to ensure that key project processes are identified as requiring training, and that training is developed and provided;
  • Supporting Major Projects Organization (MPO) in developing training plans for personnel by functions;
  • Working with the Learning Organization to convert training to computer based training (CBT) as necessary and to incorporate training needs into individual’s profiles.

About you


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (prefer Mechanical, Chemical, Civil/Structural or Electrical);
  • 20+ years in the Refining/Chemicals industry;
  • 10+ years of Capital Project Management experience to include managing projects over $20 mln Total Installed Cost.

Highly Desirable:

  • Project Management Professional Certification;
  • Experience with incorporating data from Independent Project Analysis and the Construction Industry Institute;
  • Experience implementing industry best practices and Value Improving practices;
  • Experience with facilitation of Value Improving Practices Demonstrated communication skills;
  • Experience leading and developing training.

Your Skills:

  • Expert knowledge in the stage gated processes;
  • Must feel comfortable presenting / speaking in front of a variety of audiences;
  • Demonstrate strong interest in working in the training, employee engagement, and/or human resources field;
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
