About this role

Reporting to the CEO, this role encompasses all elements of HSEQ delivery including: strategy & advice, development & implementation of policies & procedures, development of annual objectives & targets, ensuring legislative compliance across the group and driving continuous improvement. This role works closely with General Managers, Operational teams and the wider HSEQ support team across the group to ensure all projects undertaken are completed as safely as possible and with minimum impact to the environment.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide Leadership in Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) functions across the group globally;
  • Develop systems, processes, policies and procedures to continually improve HSEQ functions;
  • Act as an advisor to the Board, CEO and the Executive Team on HSEQ impacts to the business;
  • Ensure the group is compliant with HSEQ standards ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and AS/NZS 4801 and company specific accreditation schemes
  • Support, advise and coach line managers in the handling of HSEQ matters;
  • Liaise with Clients and government officials on HSEQ matters as required (Safety Case/HIRA/ HAZID);
  • Oversee the development and implementation of in-house HSEQ training and induction programs;
  • Provide HSEQ input for pre-qualifications, audits, project bids and tenders;
  • Contribute to Project Plan Documents, including HSEQ Management Plans, Emergency Response Plans, Risk Management Plans, Quality Management Plans and Environmental Management Plans;
  • Oversee and assist with HSEQ elements of critical suppliers/subcontractor’s pre-qualifications, assessments and audits;
  • Oversee all quality control processes, including document control activities;
  • Ensure all precautions are taken to minimise the impact of operations on the environment;
  • Be aware of and implement current safety trends and industry best practices.

About you

Desirable Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience or knowledge in HSEQ management within the Oil and Gas Industry;
  • Ability to create and manage change;
  • Tertiary qualification in HSEQ (Degree qualification or higher);
  • Qualified internal or lead auditor (OHS, Environment and/or Quality);
  • A good knowledge of typical industry activities including installation, commissioning, engineering, diving, ROV and inspection;
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of management systems conforming to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and AS/NZS 4801.
