About this role

As a lab technician you will be working primarily with X-Ray diffraction and microprobe areas. Your ability to perform and understand a wide array of techniques will be vital for your position. In your role you will be preparing, keeping up with inventory, and storing samples designated for analysis and the collection of other data. You will be performing standard and non-standard analytical measurements on various samples assigned to you.

Additional job responsibilities you might be encountering as a lab technician include overseeing the distribution of materials that require multiple analyses and overseeing some new lab safety practices. You will be utilizing your customer service skills when you are communicating your analytical results.

Duties:

  • Performing any tasks required to analyze samples for the group
  • Promoting and complying with all safety rules and company policies
  • Supporting basic laboratory duties such as housekeeping and equipment maintenance
  • Working on assigned projects, compiling data for analysis, and reviewing data for quality assurance
  • Delivering continuous improvement in laboratory safety, equipment maintenance and SOP's (standard operation procedure)

About you

Required:

  • High school degree or GED
  • 0-2 years of experience in a related field
  • Previous experience as a lab technician is highly desirable
  • Some lab experience in the oil and gas industry is a plus

Your Skills:

  • Excellent manual dexterity and eyesight to carry out work with small objects
  • Excellent planning and organizing ability
  • Ability to adapt to changing work conditions
  • Competence to maintain and repair lab apparatus are highly desirable
