About this role

In this permanent role for a world-class company, you will use your technical knowledge and software expertise, to develop system designs and plant layouts. You will be looking for problems at every step, using technology, tools and metrics to predict and measure performance. You are always looking for even the slightest improvements, recording modifications and running trials to determine best practice.

Your experience working in manufacturing environments has given you an understanding of various manufacturing processes, such as machining, welding, metrology, and assembly/testing. You identify best practice and lead by example through your own high standards of personal conduct and business ethics.

You will move between teams seamlessly, whether these are focused on engineering, design, procurement, or manufacturing. At every step you are optimizing flows, improving production rates, introducing efficiencies.

And you have a customer focus too. You identify needs, handle requests for corrective action. You are a key member of the product team, undertaking product quality reviews and cost reduction initiatives.

About you

This position requires education and some experience as well as talent. You’ll have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering (preferred) or related engineering degree. You’ll have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma (DMAIC), and other continuous improvement and Operational Excellence (if you are a Lean Six Sigma Green belt, that’s another plus). You may even have implemented Kaizen events.

Must haves:

  • 5-10 years of technical knowledge (manufacturing knowledge of flow meters, electronics or measurement equipment is a plus)
  • Working knowledge and utilization of quality related tools (for example Statistical Process Control (SPC), APQP, and Quality Systems)
