About this role

Job Purpose

  • Identify, develop and steward closure of Project Interfaces (Internal and External) for North Field Expansion (PROJECT) Onshore Project;
  • Provides overall guidance and leadership with respect to the Commercial and Physical interfaces between PROJECT Onshore Project and COMPANY, RLC, other QG Projects or 3rd parties;
  • Work within Company groups (e.g. OpCo, Commercial and Shipping, other QG Project Teams, EP&S and Sub-surface groups) to facilitate and coordinate Project Interface related activities;
  • Coordinates all external Project Interfaces with RLC, Kahramaa, Ooredoo, etc.

Key Job Accountabilities

  • Provides Leadership and Accountability for the PROJECT Onshore Project's Safety System. Promote clear, accurate, timely, and consistent communication with other organizations (internal & external) with respect to transferring interface information;
  • Establishes a system for the PROJECT Onshore Project Team to coordinate its activities for effectively managing and organizing physical interfaces per principles and requirements of QGPMS;
  • Develop and maintain the Project's Interface Management Plan (IMP) for internal and external interfaces. The position is responsible for managing the interfaces between the FEED or EPSCC Contractor and its sub-contractors;
  • Ensure that the PROJECT Onshore Project Team and the EPSCC Contractor understands and use the Project's IMP;
  • Conduct interface management workshops with the Project Owners and Stakeholders to address physical interfaces and management processes. Work closely with external organizations including COMPANY, RLC, Dolphin, Oryx, AKG, Ooredoo, Kahramaa and all other emerging projects;
  • Provides a single point of contact for information development and transfer between the Project and the external interfacing organizations;
  • Assures interfaces between the Project and the external interfacing organizations are defined, developed and documented in a timely manner consistent with project needs;
  • Schedule meetings, issue minutes of meetings and steward close out of action items with interfacing organizations on a frequent basis, consistent with project needs;
  • Lead implementation of the Project's Interface Agreements with QG Opco;
  • Maintain the Project's Interface Registers that summarize critical Interface Agreements;
  • Keep Project team informed with respect to progress in resolving and closing out Interface Agreements;
  • Oversee and monitor interface management activities project-wide;
  • Ensure that the FEED or EPSCC Contractors' Interface Plans are developed, then effectively implemented and monitored;
  • Assist in bringing Interface Agreements to Approved and Closed status;
  • Assist in conflict resolution regarding Interface Agreements;
  • Identify and escalate interface matters that are not being resolved by parties who have Interface Agreements;
  • Keep the Interface Manager informed of interface matters that could potentially jeopardize Project Objectives;
  • Guide development and implementation of a system for storing, editing, managing, and tracking Interface Agreements and Documents;
  • Development of personnel including opportunities to train Qatari National Engineers;
  • Operating Environment, Framework and Boundaries;
  • Works in an evolving business environment where expansion opportunities are being identified on a continuous basis adding additional complexity and workload to the existing project environment;
  • Works effectively within established procedures, or creates and endorses new procedures as necessary to further develop the Company Project Management philosophy;
  • Works on large capital expenditure projects in a highly dynamic team environment that has tight-deadlines, high pressure and visibility, requiring accuracy, initiative and the ability to multi-task as essential skills;
  • Communications and Working Relationships;
  • Interfaces with various project teams and departments on resolving related issues that requires effective communication, initiative, flexibility and an ability to induce collaboration;
  • Interacts effectively with QG management and external stakeholders, including statutory auditors, shareholder auditors and other entities to discuss project practices and issues;

  • Interacts with number of people and is responsible for the development and mentoring of the staff;

About you


  • Must have 10 years minimum work experience as Interface Engineer or Project Engineer in Oil & Gas Industry preferably LNG;
  • Minimum of five (5) years of production and project field experience with demonstrated supervisory skills;
  • Must be able to work in multicultural environment;
  • Knowledge for QGPMS elements and implementation or similar Industry accepted Project Management system;
  • Good interpersonal skills;
  • Experience with government agencies, contractors and vendors, in particular those involved in the construction of onshore facilities;
  • Minimum two (2) years Middle East experience;
  • Must have work experience in RasLaffan, Qatar;
  • Work experience with RLC, Kahramaa, Oordeoo is an advantage Previous work experience with Company (North or South) is an advantage;
  • Effective communication and presentation skills;
  • Fluent in written and spoken English at a high technical level;
  • Able to write Technical reports in English;
  • Arabic speaking is an advantage;
  • Valid Qatari Driving License (or eligible to apply) Frequent travel to RasLaffan;
  • Frequent International travel may be required;
  • Position currently based in Company HQ, Doha but will be moved to RasLaffan subject to Project requirements.

Contract Duration: Contract Hire for 48 Months with possible extension
