Key Accountabilities

  • Works in an evolving environment, starting with very minimal definitions; apply practical engineering knowledge in cross-discipline areas and develops factored cost estimates/ benchmarked schedules and progressively refines as the scope improves;
  • Works in an environment to produce specialized reports for Project Funding Bodies/ Insurance Under-writers, consistent with periodically published reports. Alignment and consistency with other reports to be maintained and reconciled, if required;
  • Exhibits team leadership skills, integrity, interpersonal understanding, self-confidence and empowerment of team members. Leads by example and demonstrates the highest level of integrity in dealings with all parties – stakeholder/ shareholder requirements. Effective team player who collaborates well with others;
  • Regular interaction with Company Groups, Shareholders, Project Teams. Periodic interaction with statutory auditors, shareholder auditors and other outsiders to discuss COMPANYPMS practices and issues;
  • Provides an interface between Project Leadership Team, PMT members and Corporate Management team in respect of cost & schedule performance, reporting, review and necessary approvals;
  • Participates in: 1) Weekly/ Monthly Progress Status; and 2) Ad-hoc meetings to address Projects specific requirements to ensure common understanding of cost, schedule, estimating, and reporting requirements are complied with COMPANY PMS requirements. This activity requires effective communication, initiative, flexibility and an ability to induce collaboration for delivering the results in a short turnaround period.
  • Conducts briefing sessions for new incumbents and provides orientation/ functional training to ensure successful transitioning of knowledge and capacity to handle the tasks independently with least supervision.
  • Communicates concisely in written and verbal context; prepares high quality written documents, enabling decision making process. Demonstrates a matured comprehensive knowledge in leading development of cost & schedule estimates, project control, contract/ compliance and reporting requirements in complicated situations that may be encountered that may be encountered in project execution and close-out periods;
  • Utilizes a systematic approach to problem solving that ensures accuracy and consistency. Maintains timeliness and quality of documentation to support early resolution on issues. Precedent based references, Benchmarks, and thump-rules are successful enabling drivers – inherent responsibility to develop strong databases on Project History with time-value adjustment;
  • Able to work complex tasks to completion within time constraints of stake holders, with minimal guidance from more experienced staff; collaborate with cross functional SME’s and produce a comprehensive document with full alignment with all SME’s;
  • Participates in the resolution of problems in more demanding and less familiar situations using precedent and own acquired knowledge. Should have ability to context and articulate technical Options & Alternatives and drive decision making process;
  • Able to work within a defined role with limited/no supervision; make appropriate assumptions and progress the work and ratify the assumptions with discipline SME’s;
  • Able to make decisions and solve problems related to Contracts, Compliance requirements, and project controls.;
  • Establishes credibility with peers and supervisors and makes efficient use of their time;
  • Exercises judgment in making decisions; knows when to seek advice. Understands organizational authority and seeks appropriate line management approvals;
  • Provide timely deliverables for time-critical requirements within short turn-around and ability to perform under pressure.

About you


  • Minimum Bachelors of Science in Engineering, or Engineering Technology, with relevant experience;
  • Hands on engineering knowledge in one of the core discipline engineering (Process/ Mechanical/ Piping etc.) coupled with professional qualifications in Cost Estimating/ Cost Accounting/ Project Controls;
  • Project controls principles, theories, concepts and tools;
  • Company practices, processes, and expectations with respect to project controls;
  • Minimum of fifteen (15+) years’ experience in the area of cost estimating, scheduling, project controls and contracts with minimum 5 years in leadership positions;
  • Minimum five (10) years’ experience associated with engineering, procurement and construction for Offshore and Onshore Facilities;
  • Experience in Project Controls and Contract Management with relevant contract (Lump Sum, Unit Rate, and Reimbursable);
  • Managed at least 2 Major Projects in Concept/ Pre FEED/ FEED and EPC from concept to close-out;
  • Interrogate Company Document Management Systems, Contractor Price Bid Proposal, and relate relevant commodity indices and develop forecasted movement, appropriate escalations to provide support to Pre Gate 2 Gate 3 teams to establish estimates;
  • Demonstrate experience in Brown Field Project execution and specific vulnerabilities associated with Cost & Schedule drivers;
  • Willing and able to travel as required;
  • Technical and Business Skills
  • Broad knowledge of design requirements of Electrical system engineering groups and disciplines;
  • Execute work in full compliance with Company Standards of Business Conduct and Company Project Management System;
  • Broad range of experience and skills through related assignments (e.g. project, operations, engineering).
