This role is responsible for coordination of plant design and management systems among the different user sites for FPSO Hull and Topsides through FEED and Execution phases. This position will ensure cohesion and robustness of the Plant Design and Management System, Company and Contractor standards and satisfies functional requirements. The position will also will work with the Contractor to ensure the overall layout satisfies functional requirements. The PDMS engineer will address commonality, synergies, and interface issues. This position will provide fabrication and installation support for the Hull and Topsides. The position will report to the Facilities Engineering Lead.

About this role

  • Review and monitor cohesion and robustness of contractor’s plant design and management system PDMS, use of PDMS Global with master model in Kuala Lumpur;
  • Support project interface management with other project disciplines and with external contractors;
  • Conduct QA surveillance of contractors’/vendors’ adherence to contractual requirements for fabrication and installation;
  • Obtain assistance from corporate engineering resources as required.

About you

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance for all aspects of plant design and management systems through FEED and Execution Phases. (FPSO Hull, LQ and Topsides);
  • Identify and address topside-hull-turret interface issues (including spec break locations, dynamics, and flexure induced stresses.);
  • Ensure Contractor’s design and layout is efficient and constructible;
  • Ensure technical deviations are reported in accordance with project procedures;
  • Participate in 3D Model Reviews and support HAZOP/HAZID as required;
  • Participate in project audit and risk management processes;
  • Participate in evaluation of FEED Contractor’s technical proposals.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Major capital project experience on both Marine (Hull) and Topsides designs;
  • Previous experience of working in Australia and knowledge of regulatory regime;
  • Previous experience on multi-disciplinary teams on major international projects;
  • Highly effective communication skills;
  • Degree qualified Engineer or at least 20 years of Project Experience on major upstream facilities or capital projects;
  • Proficient in using AVEVA 3D PDMS and EDMS;
  • Demonstrated interpersonal / teambuilding skills;
  • Analytical / technical skills with a practical approach to problem solving;
  • Willingness and ability to travel to support project needs.
